There are a few points that you'll need to consider when placing the player on your site, take a look at these guidelines to help point you in the right direction. Please read the following guidelines carefully.
Video Placement
GoViral offers a number of implementation options. Publishers are encouraged to experiment with a variety of options and suggestion techniques and we will gladly help with input based on our experiences.
The following guidelines should however always be respected:
- The video player must be fully visible and not be cut or hidden from the user at any time.
- No GoViral content may be displayed in a pop-up or in a pushed e-mail. Distribution through user initiated e-mail communication like newsletters, RSS feeds or similar are of course welcomed
- No GoViral content may start playing without the user's compliance. Pull driven marketing is about entertainment and engagement, not just exposure
- No GoViral content must be subject to hateful or similar brand-damaging metadata, tags or similar. But do feel free to do creative and funny things with the material, show spoofs of it etc.
Site Guidelines
Publishers in GoViral's Content Distribution Network should only place paid videos on sites or parts of sites that follow our general content placement guidelines.
Sites displaying GoViral material should:
- Place it in the sections of the site where it fits best (entertainment section, contextual topic section, off-topic sections, video/viral sections etc.)
- Suggest it to the user using links, suggestions and featuring
Sites displaying GoViral material may not:
- Show any form of pornography
- Show highly violent content, racial intolerance or intolerance against any minority, group or Individual.
- Engage in any actions that devalues or insulting towards GoViral.
- Promote any type of illegal activity or infringement on the legal rights of others.
- Contain pop-ups or similar intrusive elements. Likewise, GoViral embedding code or content may not be altered by editing it or adding to it ( i.e. pre-rolls)
- Contain software that can redirect users to unwanted websites or otherwise harm users and/or the user experience
- Generate views using any deceptive, fraudulent, automated or any other unacceptable process. This includes but not limited to the use of robots, repeated manual clicks, automated query tools, computer generated search requests or unauthorized search engine optimization.
- Tamper with the video player this includes editing, cutting, minimise, obscure, hide, remove any part of the video player on the website
- Redirect the user to a fraudulent page or any other page that is not the advertiser?s page.
- Access, launch, or activate videos through or from any software application, website or any other means other than websites owned by the publisher.
Views
Views of GoViral videos should be a result of genuine user interest. Always!
Any method that artificially generates views of your videos is naturally strictly prohibited. Those methods include, but are not limited to, repeated manual views, robots and other automated view generating tools, third-party services that generate views or deceptive software. GoViral will continuously test for infringements and take action on suspicion.
While we in 99% of cases prefer to work with publishers to achieve compliance with our guidelines, we reserve the right to terminate partnerships at any time and to seek legal counsel if infringement has occurred.
